The New LA Riot: ICE, ICE Baby

The New LA Riot: ICE, ICE Baby

By Peregrine Nash.

LA Erupts, ICE Hits Back

It started June 6. ICE hits LA, swooping into warehouses, Home Depot lots, meatpacking plants across LA County. They said they were coming for the “worst of the worst,” hauling in roughly 100–118 alleged undocumented offenders (some with extensive criminal records....besides entering the country illegally)  . Cue the riot soundtrack: flash‑bangs and pepper balls fly, protesters blocking the 101, cars and self‑driving Waymo cabs torched, projectiles everywhere as radicals stage an open-air meltdown.

Props to the civil unrest director’s cut, but don’t call it peaceful dissent, this was violent. Concrete chunks and pepper grenades lobbed at suited ICE agents? That’s not protest. That’s urban warfare in clown makeup.

Trump Federalizes the Guard: State versus Feds

On June 7, Trump said “enough”, and dropped the Title 10 bomb. He federalized 2,000 CA National Guard troops without paying homage to Gov. Newsom or Mayor Bass. It’s not just any big move, it’s the first federalized Guard since Lyndon B. Johnson sent troops to Selma in 1965, and George H. W. Bush used them after the 1992 riots.

Trump’s message: “Violent, insurrectionist mobs will NOT be tolerated.” He posted, “Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles… These Radical Left protests… WILL NOT BE TOLERATED”. These weren’t local booze benders, they were violent disruptions demanding a federal response.

Trumpism: Law & Order, Not Let Loose

Border czar Tom Homan warned, “We’re gonna enforce immigration law every day in LA… I don’t care if they like it”. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed: “Zero‑tolerance for criminal behavior and violence … these criminals will be arrested … laws executed fully”.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s warning? Marines were ready at Camp Pendleton if things got uglier. Technically called Title 10, not Insurrection Act, Trump operated within his toolbox, no dictatorship invoked, just federal muscle responding to mayhem.

Left Loses It: “Authoritarian” Yelling While Thugs Riot

Newsom and Mayor Bass exploded: “Unlawful, inflammatory, authoritarian move!”. ACLU demanded legal redress; Bernie Sanders warned of “democracy sliding away”.

Spinning the narrative that federal boots = tyranny, yet ignoring federal boots stepping on radical vandals? Talk about selective outrage. Guess what, boo: if they’re throwing firebombs, not just words, federal presence is warranted.

Contrast: Boulder Terror Isn’t ‘Authoritarian’ Enough

Flash-back to June 1 in Boulder, far left extremist Mohamed Sabry Soliman camo-d as a gardener, raining Molotovs and homemade flamethrowers on a peaceful pro-Israel Jewish march. Sixteen injured, including an 88‑year‑old Holocaust survivor. That’s not protest, that’s terrorism.

FBI declared it a hate‑crime, Colorado AG slapped him with 118 charges: attempted murder, explosives, animal cruelty, with federal hate‑crime add-ons.

Media coverage: “This is terrorism.” Political cover: crickets (if you discount laser-focused condemnation afterwards). Somehow this violence doesn’t trigger feverish denunciation from the same left that shrieks about Trump’s troop move in LA. Hypocrisy alert.

Matter-of-Fact: Criminal Behavior = Criminal Behavior

Let’s make it petty-crystal-clear:

  • Blocking freeways, throwing rocks, firebombs = criminal.
  • Wielding flamethrowers at old Jewish folks = terrorist-level criminal.
  • Swatting at federal officers during lawful enforcement = insurrectionist tendencies

Action demanded response. That’s why Guard in LA. That’s why charges in Boulder. That’s why applause for Trump here.

Trump’s Trifecta: Protect Federal Agents, Peace, and Law

Trump did three things nobody else dared:

  1. Protected federal agents. Guard served as backup, nobody denies ICE faces threats amid these riots.
  2. Defended the rule of law. When local leaders can’t, or won’t, control violence, federal boots may be the only path.
  3. Called out the violent fringe. He didn’t call “peaceful” those smashing gas stations in Compton or lighting cars on fire  .

Trump is proof that when you go hard for law and order, you lose the virtue-signaling win, but you win the safety vote.

Liberal Logic Breakdown

The Left says:

  • “Troops = dictatorship!”
  • “ICE is stamping on immigrants!”

Reality:

  • Troops were protecting agents from violence, not chasing toddlers in cul-de-sacs.
  • ICE is enforcing warrants against alleged criminals, that’s law enforcement.
  • Want to regulate ICE? Fine. But don’t romanticize civil disorder in the process.

Boulder Combo: Condemn Terror, Heal Community

  • Shout it loud: Soliman’s violence in Boulder was direct terrorism, far-left motivated, worse than LA rioting. Attack on human lives. Judges must treat it like attack, terrorist consequences, no games.
  • Stand with Jewish survivors, even if you’re screaming pro‑Palestine slogans tomorrow, don’t let human decency fall off the train here.

The Peregrine Nash Verdict

  • Trump’s move? Not only justified, it was overdue.
  • He didn’t mind playing tough when others played nice: needed federal backup to stop LA chaos.
  • He pointed out hypocrites left lost its mind over troops, shrugged at thread of torch-wielding terrorists.
  • He made clear: Criminal behavior is criminal. No neutral ground.

The Mic-Drop

  • Guard is not tyranny: It’s the safety valve for federal law when state leadership fails.
  • No more protest worship: Riots are not civil rights. Not this time.
  • One rule of law, one prosecution standard, no ideological double-play.
  • Boulder survivors deserve the same zeal: demand justice for all extremist violence.

Trump acted first, fast, unflinchingly on LA. Even critics had to admit Guard did its job. He’s not afraid to use power, yes, that’s authoritarian to some. But lawless violence? That’s actual anarchy.

And here’s the cherry: if this scares radicals? Good. Maybe next time they’ll think twice before turning a protest into a battlefield.

We’re tired of the chaos. Federal enforcement by the Commander‑in‑Chief? That’s the backbone of republic order. Trump deployed, he protected, he made a statement: no violence in our streets, period. Period.

You mess with law and order, you get the Guard. ~
